Free taster classes for West Somerset residents

Halsway Manor are hosting a series of taster sessions for West Somerset residents. Try singing, drumming, willow weaving, or yoga at Halsway Manor.

The tasters aim to help people gain confidence in a new skill, relight an old passion or just try something new. These sessions are free of charge for West Somerset residents.

Introduction to Drumming

24 May 10am – 11.30am
29 Nov 10am -11.30am

A fun interactive djembe drumming circle. We’ll follow our own rhythm, establishing a strong pulse based upon the human heartbeat, and see where it leads us. No prior experience needed, just a willingness to follow the beat and have fun.

Willow Weaving

21 June 10am – 11.30
30 Aug 10am-11.30

Discover willow work with Somerset basket-maker and sculptor Sarah Webb. No experience necessary. Sarah will provide an enjoyable introduction to this traditional skill and you’ll go home with your own unique handmade items.

Yoga and Wellbeing

26 Jul 10am-11.30am
27 Sep 2pm-3pm

Mindful movement and breathing exercises to reduce stress, create ease and calm, improve mental focus and overall sense of wellbeing. Sessions are suitable for all and will include learning a relaxation sequence and discussion about what wellbeing means to us and how to develop it in daily life.

Singing for Enjoyment.

18th Oct 18th 10 – 1130am

A singing session to learn how to nurture our voices and enjoy singing together. A simple repertoire of songs will help complete beginners to build confidence and those with some experience to try out harmonies and develop their musicality.
