The Coleridge Way is a 51 mile route through glorious scenery, running from Nether Stowey in the East to Lynmouth at it’s Westernmost point.

This walking holiday week will include three full days of walking, covering the Western half of the route (Wheddon Cross to Lynmouth – we walked the Eastern end next year) led by local guide and enthusiast Roger Phipps. There is also the option for partners / friends to enjoy easier walks each day, of up to 6 miles approximately, under the friendly, knowledgeable guidance of Nan Ward.

Whether you choose to walk with Roger or with Nan – or with a combination of the two – the week will offer an enjoyable and sociable few days’ walking, through stunning and varied scenery and charming villages, with time in the evenings to relax and socialise with some informal entertainment too.

Who’s it For?

The Coleridge Way route is moderately challenging and each day will cover between 8 and 10 miles, so you’ll need a reasonable level of fitness.

Nan’s walks aim to be less challenging, but may still include steep climbs so again a reasonable level of fitness is required.

Come prepared for all weathers!

We’ll be arranging transport for the long distance route; for the shorter walks car sharing may be required, and bring a bus pass if you have one!

The Team

Roger Phipps & Nan Ward have been leading walking holidays at Halsway for many years now. Both live locally, and have a great love and knowledge of the Quantocks and Exmoor. When not on a hilltop somewhere, Roger can be found dancing with Taunton Deane Morris Men, or compering monthly ‘Sunday Club’ acoustic nights at the Manor! Nan enjoys painting, a variety of traditional crafts and also plays piano (sometimes at the Sunday club!).
