A dinner-dance, folk style! Enjoy a delicious home-cooked supper followed by light-hearted country dancing. All welcome, including those new to country dance. Simon Mapplesden (caller) leads the dancing with live music from musicians Chris Toyne and Henry Lovegrove.
All welcome, for food, folk-dancing and fun!
The Team
Simon Maplesden has been calling for folk dances for about ten years and has a wide repertoire from Playford to Ceilidh for all ages and abilities. He’s still trying to learn to play the melodeon but would argue he’s a better caller than a melodeon player!
Chris Toyne has been playing the accordion for both Folk and Morris dancing since the early 70s. From Playford to present day tunes, it’s all about making music work for the dancing. These days Chris can be heard around many of the local folk dance clubs and events as a solo musician and with his “Big Band” (of 3 !).
Henry Lovegrove has been playing in ceilidh and morris dance bands for over 50 years, rejoices that he can still do it, the more the better!
