Recorders@Plymouth are back for their annual visit to Halsway Manor, offering an opportunity to explore the huge diversity of recorder orchestra repertoire. The recorder orchestra will be led by a professional conductor to enable players to develop their playing to a better standard, in a supportive environment with convivial company!
Who is it for?
Players must be confident ensemble players, able to play both C and F instruments and ideally including bass; in a recorder orchestra there are many more basses, greats and contras, than small instruments. This course is not suitable for beginners or for descant-only players.
The Team
Helen Hooker the conductor for the orchestral sessions studied recorder at Trinity and has many years of experience of teaching and conducting. The non orchestral sessions will be conducted by Steve Marshall who is a prolific composer and arranger of recorder music. Steve has conducted many groups of recorder players on a variety of courses.
