Maggie and Lucy will teach daytime workshops helping you to brush up on your skills, and there will be ceilidhs on Friday evening, Saturday evening and Sunday afternoon for you to enjoy dancing to top-notch live accompaniment. We recommend that you book early for this course!

There’s the option to stay Sunday night for an extra £60 per person, to include light supper, B&B. Bring instruments if you have them, and enjoy a relaxed evening session!

“Meeting old friends & dancing to great music in beautiful surroundings – I just love the place, it’s so welcoming and people are always so nice.” Participant

Who is it for?

This course is for experienced dancers to come together and enjoy a great weekend of high energy dancing with a great Irish band!

The Team

Maggie Daniel first tried Irish Set Dancing at Bromyard Folk Festival in 1996. This was followed by her first trip to Ireland in 1998 where she was really bitten by the bug! She leads workshop and dances at festivals and venues up and down the UK. She is joined by experienced teacher and dancer Lucy Slemmings; together they have run this popular weekend at Halsway for many years.

Rise the Dust Ceili Band (Johnnie Duffy, Liz Ryan & Brendan Doyle) are a high-energy three-piece band playing authentic and danceable tunes on banjo, box and piano. Popular around their native Ireland, it’s great to welcome them back to Halsway!
