A traditional silversmithing course for beginners, exploring surface pattenation.
Led by Ness Bird, this weekend will focus on developing basic smithing skills through the process of making 2 simple pieces of silver jewellery of your choosing. We will be using techniques such as soldering, forging, planishing (creating a hammered surface,) stamping and oxidising. Students will have the opportunity to experiment with techniques over the weekend to create different surface decorations.
