Dancers of all levels of experience, including beginners, are invited to join this relaxed week of English country dances of the 17th century as published by John Playford & his son Henry. In workshops & evening dances you’ll see how these beautiful, interesting & lively dances developed from 1650 to 1728, with ‘Meter Rite’ providing music of the period to lift your feet & spirits! All this will be combined with singing workshops, a Playford Assembly (bring a costume if you have one), a fun final Ceilidh & free afternoons to spend in the Somerset countryside.
“The people were very friendly and I was encouraged to participate in activities I would not have thought I could do.” Participant
