A brand new course for more advanced fiddle players who wish to expand on their skills and deepen their personal style. While we will learn some new repertoire together and do some ensemble work, much of the focus of this weekend will be on supporting individual players to further develop tone, technique, musicality and style. There will be opportunities for performing, and Rowan looks forward to working with each player one-to-one at some point over the weekend.

This course – for a maximum of 10 musicians – runs alongside courses run by Emmanuel Pariselle & Richard Burgess. All three tutors will perform an informal concert on Saturday evening.

Who’s it For?

Fiddle players of an advanced, or advanced/intermediate level. Get in touch if you’re unsure.

Although Rowan’s playing and teaching is rooted in traditional music, advanced fiddle players from other backgrounds are welcome. You’ll need an open mind, a readiness to try new things, a supportive outlook and a willingness to work alone or in small groups.

All tuition will be without written notation so you’ll need to be comfortable learning by ear.
