Celebrate the New Year in style – folk style that is! Join us for an enjoyable Hogmanay break with a great team at the helm.

There won’t be social dancing this year, but there will be plenty of other activities to keep you entertained. With optional walks and playing sessions; pack your walking boots and instruments.

Enjoy the Manor is its festive finery and see-in the New Year with great music and good company!

Who’s it For?

An enjoyable New Year break for anyone who wants to enjoy a ‘Country House’ New Year!

The Team

Ted & Pat Morse: Ted began dancing with the Oxford Morris Men and Oxford City Folk Dance Club when he was 17, started calling and running barn dances at 19, and has barely paused since! Ted plays accordion, percussion and tuba, is an experienced band leader, teaches Morris, Sword and Country dancing (and more!) and is a regular tutor at Halsway Manor – along with Pat. Between them they promise a fun and varied break packed with folk activities to bring in the New Year!

Rod & Francis Stradling: Our house band has an energetic style, with a broad variety of repertoire that covers all styles of English and Scottish dancing and much more. Sadly they won’t be playing for dancing this year, but they will be providing fabulous music to listen to and workshops to get involved in.
