Join artist and blacksmith Dot Kuzniar for an enjoyable and informative introductory workshop. Dot will teach traditional methods of blacksmithing to create your own decorative designs for small items such as fire irons or hook racks. You’ll learn skills including drawing out, shaping and joining metal, making decorative detail and managing all aspects of working with forging tools and managing the fire.

Who’s it For?

No prior experience is necessary. You’ll be working in a workshop environment with hot metal so come prepared for an environment that will be noisy and messy at times, and where manual dexterity is an advantage. Safety gloves and goggles will be provided, but wear old clothes and tie-back long hair.

The Tutor

Dot Kuzniar is an artist, sculptor and designer. She uses her fine art background alongside 16 years experience as a working blacksmith to incorporate traditional forging skills into her contemporary metal sculptures.
