Ed Hicks is one of the UK’s leading banjo players and works as a musician, educator, performer and irreverent folk-music activist in London and beyond. Ed plays 5-string banjo (clawhammer and bluegrass style) as well as 4-string plectrum jazz banjo.

Now in his 46th year as a professional folk singer, song writer, multi-instrumentalist, dancer, dance caller and more, “He’s still one of the most committed, most versatile, most important folk artists in Britain” Colin Irwin, MOJO. Pete favours the banjo particularly for accompanying ballads, and it is a central feature of his forthcoming album.
