In this introductory workshop Dot Kuzniar will guide you from inspiration to a completed item, working with you to create a design before teaching basic techniques of working with hot metal to create your finished decorative piece.

Who’s it For?

No previous experience is required, Dot will help you design an item that will match your level of skill / ambition! You’ll be working in a workshop environment with hot metal so come prepared for an environment that will be noisy and messy at times, and where manual dexterity is an advantage. Safety gloves and goggles will be provided, but wear old clothes and tie-back long hair.

The Tutor

Dot Kuzniar is an artist, sculptor and designer. She uses her fine art background alongside 16 years experience as a working blacksmith to incorporate traditional forging skills into her contemporary metal sculptures.
